An omnidirectional or multidirectional antenna actually increases ghosting. The remedy for ghosting is usually a highly directional antenna. A 3016 would definately work outside, but in the attic would be questionable. With an attic install you take about a 50% loss. To make up for that I would normally recommend a stronger antenna like the Winegard 7084P or the Channel Master 3679

With the limitiation of your attic space, you may want to try the 3016 outisde, or if you dont like the looks try the CM3010 Stealthtenna This would be better than a 3016 in the attic, and its relatively small. Even with three TVs a pre-amp would be too much, because you have station within 5 miles.
