Joining two antennas can be a real pain, and in a lot of cases it doesnt work out. If you are going to join two antennas together I recommend two directional antennas, like the 42XG from Antennas Direct. Or at least one directional antenna and a db2. If antenna A picks up anything antenna B is supposed to get, then your going to have problems. Also make sure you have equal lengths of cable from each antenna to the splitter (as a combiner). Make sure they are at least 4 feet apart to avoid interference.

This takes a hobbyest attitude since it takes adjustment to get right. I have talked to engineers who couldln't perfect it, and talked to novices that did it in one shot.

I do not believe reversing the DB8 would produce good results.
