Default Ethernet port for Cradlepoint CTR-350

Update the ethernet port on your CradlePoint CTR-350 to make it an uplink and downlink.

Here is how:

1) Download and save the new CradlePoint BETA firmware u_ctr_2007_12_19.bin to your desktop
2) Open your browser and go to 192.168.0.1
3) Under 'tools' You will find 'firmware' Find the upgrade option on the lower part of the page. Click browse, and navigate to the u_ctr_2007_12_19 on your desktop
4) It will appear on your tool bar and all you need to do is upload and Now your ethernet port will work as an uplink and a downlink.

CradlePoint Technology is still developing this firmware, and will not provide support for it. The features in this firmware will be officially supported in their next firmware release.

I just received my new Cradle Point CTR-350 that I ordered from you. I have flashed the new firmware to the router in order to use it with my desktop via the ethernet cable. I need help from there. I can't seem to get it to work.

I am using the USB720 modem from Verizon. If I plug the modem into the desktop, I can connect to the internet but my laptop won't connect. If I plug the modem into the Cradle Point router, my laptop will connect but the desk top won't. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Since this is BETA firmware SolidSignal.com nor CradlePoint has tech support for it. If you are not satisfied with your current firmware you can undo all changes from the BETA upgrade by simply roll back using the orignal bin.

In the time that I was waiting for a response to my question, I actually managed to get the configuration correct (thanks, in part, to reading another forum that does offer support for this firmware upgrade).

I am satisfied with the firmware upgrade as it is the only reason that I purchased the router. Undoing the changes, as you suggested, would render the CTR-350 useless for me.

The CTR-350 is a great product and your shipment of it to me was very quick. What I am not satisfied with is that the firmware upgrade is available on your forum leading one to assume that your forum would also be able to help with tech support. That is my fault for assuming and trying to save a few dollars. Had I to do it over though, I would have purchased the unit from the store that does offer tech support for the current firmware upgrade and paid the few dollars more just to be able to get that support when needed. Thanks anyway.
