well friend, I recently switched from Time Warner to Directv, mainly because Directv has a lot more high def channels. I spent $7000 on a new 56" Samsung tv and Klipsch speakers with all of the accompaying equipment. The picture is truly outstanding but I'm on my fourth reveiver/dvr in the first ten weeks. Either the fast-forward screws up or the high def recordings don't replay properly or the audio goes away. It seems to only happen with the high def channels. I don't hesitate to call and explain my concerns and they always try to fix the problem but, good christ, 4 receiver/dvr's in the first ten weeks. I did learn that if you request a new receiver/dvr they will send you a reconditioned one so now I insist on a new one but I still get the feeling that they use me to sort out their equipment for them. Anyone else have this problem with Directv?

I made the mistake & changed from Dish HD to DTV HD in May. I have a H21-100 & H21-200. I have had 15 pin numbers to DTV Case Management, everything replaced (3 HR21-100s), & I have pixelation, video freezing, & sometimes a black screen w/no audio. I had to have my Dish HD Dvr replaced a couple of times in two years, & I have had a couple of SD cable DVRs replaced over a period of several years. There have been DTV Field Service Managers, Office Managers, Lead Techs, etc, & I have very high signal strength on all satellites (103c 90%+). I would recommed that what ever you do don't sign up with DTV HD. IT SUCKS! I am almost at the point that I don't want to watch TV. I have a 52" Sony XBR 5.
