Default Post size for Slimline Dish

Have a new 5LNB going in and lo-and behold the existing short post-pipe in the landscape isn't the right size anymore.
Does anyone know of a "sleeve" or coupler that can be used instead of digging up and replacing a post hole for the older 3 LNB dish?

There is 2 inch outer diameter adapter we sell that fits a 1.65" O.D. mast. From the looks of it I didn't think this would support the wind load that the Slim Line takes. I talked to Ronard industries, the people that manufacturered and tested the Ultra Duty Series Tripods for the Slim Line, and they said the adapter would work fine, despite it's appearance.

My concern is that the dish might wave back and forth when you get some high wind, because the 5 foot 1.65" mast is not as strong as a 2". A lot of customers have purchased this and had it work fine, but I did talk to a customer that reported the dish moving in the wind. If your mast is securely cemented in the ground, it should work fine.

I would run to the closest,well-stocked auto parts store and look for a coupler made to repair auto exhaust pipes. They come in a variety of sizes, and with hope one may fit your situation. Good luck

I did two replacements of older dishes with AU9s and used about 6 inch long sections of 2 inch ABS DWV (drain-waste-vent) pipe which you can get at any hardware store. Just slit the ABS pipe down the side (I just sawed mine with a carpenter saw - you want to take out about 1/16 of an inch of material) and heat it a bit with a torch if you need to when slipping it over the old mount post. Slide it on until the top is flush with the top of your old mount post. I had a pretty substantial steel pipe for my original mount though, so that might be a consideration with the larger dish and this might not work with a less solid original mount. When the AU9 is clamped down, it shouldn't go anywhere since it tightens the ABS section as well. Works for me.
