Default Spaun WBS41202NF Multiswitch

I, along with a DirecTV installer, attempted to connect this multiswitch to a new DirecTV 5 LNB slimline dish yesterday. Unfortunately, the setup on the new HR20 DVR failed because many transponders on Sat A (101 degree) would not pass through the switch. A call to Spaun today revealed that one must properly connect the 4 leads coming from the dish to the proper input port on the switch. I thought (as did the DirecTV installer) that any lead from the dish could connect to any input port. Does anyone have any additional information on how to properly identify the dish leads and to which port they should be connected? Or do I have a defective switch?

It does not matter which output of the dish goes into which input. Just as long as all four are connected. The most common problem with hooking up this dish is that the power cable is not seated properly in the switch. Otherwise you may have a defective unit, which doesnt happen all that often with Spaun. If your cable lengh from the dish to the switch is over 100 feet then the voltage could not be making its way up to the dish and giving you this problem.
