Default SW21 switch with legacy receiver problems

I have 2 legacy Dish Net antennas. One points at the 119 sat, one points at the 110 sat.
I have a Model 1000 receiver. Both satellites show a strong signal when connected individually to the receiver. After connection to the SW21 switch, only the antenna connected to the dish 1 input appears on the setup screen. Check switch displays "no switch detected" message. I've tried selecting the "dish 500" option and the "alt" option with the same results.
Are these components incompatible?

Thanks

I have a Coolsat 5000 and i use a DiSEqC 4x1 switch. I dont believe the SW21will work wiht FTA.... When you ran the lines directly from the dish to the receiver were you able to get each signal?

I don't think the SW21 is the right switch for the application. I recommend the Spaun SAR411 4 x 1 Diseqc switch. It is the best you can buy in my opinion.

Thanks for the replys. Yes I did have signal from both dishes when each eas connected indepandtly to the receiver. I guess the "legacy" in the SW21 description lead me down the wrong path. Is a 2x1 DISECq switch available?
Would this work?
Spaun SAR212F 1 X 2 DiSEqC Relay Switch SAT Antenna Relay (SAR212F)
Or am I better off using the 4 port that was recommended?

Thanks,

Yes, a 2 x 1 diseqc would also work. The 4 x 1 is our most popular because it leaves open the possability of adding new satellites in the future. The 2 X 1 DiSEqC switch is also by Spaun. They have a 2-year warranty and the quality of these switches are unparalleled.

OK, now I'm confused yet again. After a bit of research, it looks like the diseqc protocol is used for the DishPro series of receivers and LNBF's.
The Model 1000 receiver I have and the two dishes are not Dish Pro.
