I agree about it not in the near future and it may not be in the long term future either. We need to consider bandwidth needed for a 4K signal. One...

About PhilK
Biography:
I grew up on Long Island, NY, went to college in PA, Marburg Germany, and California where I ended up with a masters degree in physics.

I've worked in physics, optical engineering and then moved into software development in things from assembly language, embedded satellite systems, flow meters, optical instrumentation, medical instrumentation, corrosion engineering and DNA databases, mechanical control, medical evaluation programming, and web site design.

I am by no stretch of the imagination an antenna expert but I have a good basic understanding of the principles and I enjoy trying things out. I also like to put what I've discovered in writing and I look forward to the comments and experiences of others, knowing that we will all gain a better understanding of our antennas, or whatever we're looking at, through sharing our experiences and results.

A good magazine for general radio and TV is Popular Communications and I am also a life member of the ARRL (look it up at http://www.arrl.org) and have had a number of articles and short hints published in both the ARRL's QST magazine and Popular Communications over the years.

Update April 2014: the magazine "Popular Communications" is no longer in publication, however some of its articles are now being published by CQ Magazine in its online version of the magazine called, "CQ Online" - http://www.cq-amateur-radio.com/
