Sirius/XM Merger

Has there been any recent news regarding the Sirius/XM merger and how this might effect customers and their current satelite equipment? Specifically, will current receivers still work or will equipment upgrades be necessary?

I believe I read several months back that current equipment would still work, but I haven't followed more recent news and wondered if this was still the case.

Such a merger is highly unlikely, ask anyone who worked for Ma Bell.
