Default Can I run one line to my dvr and split it?

Nope. You can not split one satellite line to two lines for a DVR. It may be a huge pain to run the other line, but for most situations there is no alternative way.

Sonora used to make stackers for the Dual LNB systems that would take two lines to one and then back to two again. But that system was in the price range of 200-300 dollars. With the wide band system from DirecTV which is used by the 5 LNB dish, there is definately no way to do this.

However, the solution may be on it's way. A couple companies are prototyping stacker systems for this new band, but we may not see them by the end of the year.

Default

I should mention that Dish Network does have a solution for this. When using a Dish Pro Plus Twin LNB on the 500 or when using a Dish 1000 or 1000.2, you can run one line into a room and them use a DP Separator to split one line to two. DP Separators come with all Dish DVRs.
