Default Channel Master Pre-Amp Question

I have questions about 2 different Channel Master models...CM 0068DSB Spartan 3 and the CM 7777 Titan 2.

Documentation on these and most other pre-amps states that there should be nothing installed between the power supply and the mast-mounted unit. Does this include a ground block?

The CM 7777 Titan references using RG6; the CM 0068DSB makes no such reference. Does it really matter whether RG6 or RG59 is used for either pre-amp?

My final question is that the CM 7777 does not amplify FM; does this mean that FM "passes-through" or is blocked?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Eric

When the documentations says not to place any devices in-line between pre-amp and power supply, they are talking about device that are not power passive, such as splitters and diplexers.

The grounding block is passive, so it won't block the power from the injector to the amp. Normal splitters will not pass power, but if you buy a power passive splitter, this can be placed between pre-amp and power injector.

RG6 or RG59 can be used, but of course RG6 is recommended. It was my understanding that the 7777 does amplfy FM. The factory preset is to block or trap the FM signal out. There is a switch inside the amp that you can flip to pass FM.
