Question about install of Wi-EX YX500/510
Over the past few days I have done allot of research concerning cell repeaters, and it seems that SOLID SIGNAL gives the best support among many, along with a very good price tag. When I am ready to purchase, I have decided to buy the YX500 from you.
During my research, I have noticed several references to the installation of the outside antenna for the YX500/510; all say that the antenna should be at least 3 feet from metal objects. My problem is that the place where I have the best reception is about 15 feet in the air on my metal antenna tower mast. At that location I get five strong bars; even more of a kicker is that I am also right next to a tin roof, though the roof IS more than three feet away from the tower. SO, is it possible to install the outside antenna onto the antenna tower? If not, what do you recommend, for higher up is really the only pace where I continuously receive four to five bars. Everywhere else the signal strength is from two to three solid, and depending on conditions, sometimes four (weak) bars.
Oh, I measured the signal strength with my Blackberry 8700g, not a meter.
Thank you for your help!
